About Us Minimize

TALC is a "think tank". We advise, assist and facilitate projects, programmes and ideas. The primary focus of our work is capability building in T&L.

Building capability refers to creating a capacity in the T&L sector to analyse the present business environment, develop future business strategies, provide the knowledge and systems to support the strategies and generally have the best combination of people, processes and innovation to be the world's best at what we do.

TALC's Purpose, Vision, Mission and Programmes are summarised in its Powerpoint Presentation, The Skills Battle (Powerpoint 1.84mb).

Productivity and Skills

We know that there is a link between productivity and skills at the individual, enterprise, industry, sector and national level. More skills generally equals more productivity. Just how much and what is the benefit-cost analysis for T&L in terms of investment in education and training are the questions that need answers. There must be an answer somewhere. In 2003 TALC asked a PhD economics student to think about it and this is some of the response from that student.
